Overpopulation of the Earth

By overpopulation I'm referring to humanity growing so large it ruins the planet and hence we become extinct.

This is EXTREMELY unlikely for 3 good reasons

1.  Extensive studies have shown that when nations reach about $8000 GDP per capita the birth rate starts and continues to drop.  Since the 1800s the poverty rate worldwide has dropped from 80% to 10% and is continuing to drop, so birth rates will continue to drop worldwide, developed countries average around the rate required to maintain the same population.  Progress is by far the most powerful prophylactic.

2.  In the 1800s a farmer in the US (or in undeveloped countries today) produced enough to feed his family and one other person,  now the average farmer in the US produces enough to feed 200 people, so as third world countries continue to develop and their farmers become more efficient they will soon produce enough to feed themselves and more, running out of food is highly unlikely.

3. The US is now a net exporter of fossil fuels, something noone could have predicted, so the odds are other resources will be found or technology created that will extend our ability to exist with the resources we have.

Musings on the psychology of the left

Yin Yang, Good Evil, Conscious Subconscious,  dichotomy is normal, left and right are the example here, integration is the aim of course.  To understand the left is to start that process.

Just some theories on the left.

Tribalism has existed for 1000s of years and in the human subconscious is valid, is intersectionalism the new tribalism,  the subconscious asserting itself?

The right is more from the concsious mind, higher brain, intellect, logic, reasoning which is a new and fragile development.  Technological progress is the outcome of the right, but also fairness (equal opportunity) and democracy, which are also logical.
The right generally achieves its goals thru the application of intellect.
Order thru an agreed set of rules that have empirical evidence of success, the form the resulting society takes is not completely predictable but the method of getting there is understood.

The left is concerned with personal happiness (hate speech legislation for instance is about making sure people dont get upset).  Fairness is seen by the left as equal outcome, which again is aimed at everyone being happy.  They achieve their goals thru manipulating emotions thru propoganda (the press and education system) and the raw power of government. If you replace the press/education system with the church, and the government with a monarchy or dictate of a tribal council, you end up with the way humanity has lived for 1000s of years, the ancient ways of the subconscious.
Order thru force of will. The outcome is defined and method are known, this does give more certainty which is one of its major appeals, especially when the outcome is defined as something most people want, ie. happiness.
